Kiefer Celebrates Freedom

Kiefer Sutherland was spotted out and about on Thursday night spending some quality time with his father, actor Donald Sutherland. The happy twosome had dinner at the Brass Cap in Santa Monica. This was the first time that the two had seen each other since Kiefer’s release from jail on Monday after serving a 48 day sentence for a DUI.

It's good to see these two together; Kiefer looks joyful as always. Keep enjoying life Kiefer...remember not to go overboard with the JB.

Kiefer Sutherland Locked Up!

One of my favorite celebs, Kiefer Sutherland, begins a 48 day stint in the Glendale City jail. Sutherland chose to serve time for his September DUI in a city jail rather than the county lock-up.

Kiefer must complete his 48-day sentence by March 31st. After he completes his sentence, he will be placed on informal probation, which means that he will not have to pay a fine, complete 18 months of an alcohol education program, undergo six months of weekly alcohol therapy sessions or see a probation officer.

Unlike the "pay for stay" program, Kiefer will serve a regular county jail sentence through the City jail inmate worker program. He will be required to participate in daily chores like laundry and kitchen duty and will wear the standard orange jumpsuit, but fortunately, Kiefer will have his own cell.

Kiefer, I hope that your time in the slammer passes quickly. I'm hopeful that when you return from your little get-a-way, that you will be proactive (with the help of your loved ones) in addressing certain hinderances in your life.

Rocco DeLuca and the Burden...Pure Genius

I recently watched the documentary, I Trust You To Kill Me; an indie movie about emerging band, Rocco DeLuca and the Burden. Have you heard of 'em? Well, they're financed by the one and only Kiefer Sutherland. It turns out that Kiefer is co-owner of Ironworks Music...along with his friend Jude Cole.

Ironworks is an independent label, whose main goal is to bring diversity back to the music industry. For the past few years, the charts have been over-run by Pop, Hip Hop and R&B, leaving little air play for anything else. Lablels are signing artist that target a younger demographic, but the music has no substance and often of little quality. Thanks to people like Kiefer, Jude and the artist they sign (like Rocco) the music industry is about to change.

Now, back to I Trust You To Kill Me.......

The documentary profiles Rocco DeLuca and the Burden with Kiefer Sutherland acting as their road manager, as they tour through the pubs, clubs and various joints in Europe, in an effort to promote the band.

I rented the movie because Kiefer Sutherland is HOT!!! Although didn't get to see a shirtless Kiefer in all of his tattooed glory, I did find myself becoming totally engrossed in Rocco and the passion he displayed for his music. Rocco is a singer, song writer and musician...a true artist. Rocco DeLuca and the Burden is not mere talent, but pure genius at work.
