Rumors are circling that 16-year old Disney star, Demi Lovato, is back at her dirty little habit of cutting herself. New photos have surfaced of the tween star sporting nasty looking slashes on her wrist.
A source told Star magazine, "Demi has been really stressed out about her new show, Sonny with a Chance…She's not getting enough downtime because there is so much work involved, and she's always being pulled in different directions."
Dr. Jennifer Austin Leigh, a San Francisco–based psychologist who specializes in treating teenagers said, "Cutting is how she can let go of the stress that has built up inside — when she cuts herself, it's a way to cope." Although she has not treated Demi, Dr. Leigh feels that sourrounding herdelf with a good support system by help, stating, "Demi needs to surround herself with family and friends who will have a positive impact on her."
So sad the pressure these teen stars are put under when their the breadwinner for their families. Let’s hope Demi gets the help that she needs.
